Lunar Living In A Solar World

July 13, 2020

"I'm finally here...on my way to Isla Mujeres, the "island of women".

We take a boat to get there and I'm on a mission to find the temple of Ixchel. With our rented golf cart, we race the length of the island to find the temple ruins.

For me, this is a pilgrimage of devotion.

Finding this sacred place to pay homage to Ixchel is one of the main reason we chose Cancun to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary.

We've come to celebrate love, commitment and devotion to our marriage,..

...and I'm also here to celebrate my love, commitment and devotion to the gift of intuition and the magic of the moon.

Six years earlier, I was diagnosed with melanoma and although the lesion was removed, the fear remained. I lost all sense of my purpose, my passion and my joy.

I was numb and robotic so that I couldn't feel the pain. As the new year approached, I didn't want to set any resolutions because I thought, "What's the point?"

But the Universe held me through this and responded with a breadcrumb of synchronicity that I chose to follow.

During an online intention-setting ritual to start the new year, I was invited to deepen into my intuition and receive 2 images of myself...first at the beginning of the new year, and then, at the end of the year.

The first image I saw was a cave woman slowly peeking out from behind the large stone, the door to her cave...she was afraid, lonely, but curious. That resonated so deeply with how I felt, too afraid to venture out to see the sun.

The second was an image of a woman with a feathered headdress looking up at the crescent moon in the sky. I didn't understand what that meant, but later, as I looked through an oracle card deck, I recognized her. It was Ixchel, goddess of the moon, of love, fertility, health, and medicine...wife of the god of the Sun.

At the time, I didn't understand what this would mean to me that year, nor how that vision would impact my life, my work and my legacy.

But somehow, I slowly began to come out from behind the stone.

I started writing to express my feelings and hoped to inspire and uplift women. I sent this writing out into the world as a blog on the new and full moon.

I started to say yes to life,...and even to joy, again. For Halloween, I dressed in a white flowing gown and walked the dark streets as Ixchel, Moon Goddess, fully emerged from my cave!

My signature framework, The Moon Cycle Power Path, emerged from that writing adventure. This simple, yet profound path, teaches us to embrace the "phases and faces" of the moon so that we can tune into our own inner voice and authority and manifest our heart's intentions.

During my dark night of the soul, I felt so lost and hopeless...and that's how many of us are feeling today,...as what was once so familiar, crumbles.

The great unknown awaits and it can feel frightening and unnerving.

It's a place I know very well, yet my life has taught me that sometimes, in the unknown is where the greatest magic and possibility are found! The key to finding our way into the Unknown is tapping into our intuition.

Intuition is a powerful gift that we can access to help us, especially when we feel lost and afraid.

Since my dark night of the soul, I've learned to integrate the wisdom of the moon and bring it into harmony with our busy, solar world,...and I can't wait to share some of these secrets with you.

Until then, keep listening to your intuition...

who knows what mystery and magic might await!

Over to you...

Do you tune into your intuition regularly? How has intuition guided you and helped you create a more intentional and magical life?
