I’ve been feeling a heaviness lately, and I'm wondering if you have too.
It surprised me because the Aquarius Full Moon felt so powerful and expansive. I could feel something opening, something shifting, something asking me to see beyond the edges of what I already know.
And yet, underneath that expansive energy, I’ve also felt myself being pulled backward.
Toward old patterns and decisions.
Old beliefs about myself and my life.
Old stories about what happened, what should have happened, and what might have been different if I had chosen another path.
Maybe you know this feeling too.
There is a particular kind of heaviness that comes from looking backward for too long.
We revisit the past hoping to find a different answer, make peace with something that still hurts, or understand why we made the choices we did.
Meanwhile, life is happening right here. And the energy of this moment feels anything but backward.
We have moved through Lammas on 8/1, the first harvest, a time to recognize what has grown and gather the fruits of what we have cultivated.
We are moving through the Lion’s Gate, with its invitation to open the heart and become more intentional about what we are calling toward us.
And now we arrive at a Leo New Moon eclipse, asking us to turn our attention toward desire, creativity, courage, and the life we actually want to experience.
I feel the contrast, the dissonance.
The world feels heavy. Life feels complicated. And still, something inside me is saying:
Look forward, not back.

The Medicine Of The Moon
Tomorrow's New Moon is no ordinary New Moon.
At 20° Leo, this total solar eclipse creates a powerful reset point. Its proximity to the South Node adds a strong invitation to release, forgive, and loosen our attachment to what has already completed its work in our lives.
And it is happening in Leo.
Leo calls us to the heart.
To desire. To creativity. To courage.
To the parts of ourselves that want to express, create, play, love, lead, and feel fully alive.
This eclipse asks us to make space for what lights our fire.
There is something beautifully paradoxical here. We are being asked to let go while simultaneously being invited to want more.
Jupiter is also moving through Leo, amplifying themes of growth, possibility, confidence, and expansion. Mercury in Leo brings our thoughts and words into this same field, with its connection to Uranus opening us to new ideas and perspectives.
Perhaps the medicine is this:
The way forward may not come from thinking harder about the past. It may come from allowing ourselves to imagine the future... differently.

To understand this paradox more fully, I turned inward to the intuitive world of tarot and pulled three cards for guidance through this eclipse:
Guidance: 8 of Cups reversed
Action: 9 of Swords reversed
Hidden energy: 8 of Swords
And then, as I was writing this Moonletter and typed the words “turning the page,” the 7 of Pentacles flew off the deck and landed on the ground.
That's a message worth listening to.
The first three cards speak to the temptation to return to what we have outgrown, the mental stories that keep us circling, and the beliefs that can make us feel more trapped than we actually are.
This moon's Gene Key 4 offers a beautiful medicine to help with this: Intolerance to Understanding to Forgiveness.
We don't need one more explanation, plan or stategy.
We can simply create enough space to see the pattern, release our need to make everything make sense, and forgive what we are ready to leave behind.
And then the 7 of Pentacles flies in and asks us to pause...and look at what has already been cultivated.
Turning the page doesn't mean leaving everything behind.
Instead, it's an invitation to consider...
What has grown because of everything you've lived through?
What wisdom have you earned?
What deserves more of your energy now?
Perhaps this eclipse is less about becoming someone entirely new and more about...
Making room for the fullest expression of who you are already becoming.
Release what pulls you backward. Reclaim the space. Then turn toward the light. And from that open field the questions emerge...
What do you desire now?
What wants to come alive through you?
What are you ready to believe is possible?

Where This May Land In Your Life
You may notice this energy showing up in places where you feel stuck, especially around something you thought you had already moved through.
Perhaps an old relationship or family dynamic keeps pulling you back into a familiar role.
Maybe a decision from the past still carries a charge, and you find yourself wondering whether you should have chosen differently.
You might notice an old belief about who you are quietly shaping what you think is possible now.
Sometimes the thing keeping us stuck isn't the circumstance itself... It is the story we continue to tell about the circumstance.
This Leo eclipse offers an opportunity to turn your attention toward a different question:
What do I want now?
What do I want to feel?
What do I want to create?
What do I want to experience?
What wants to come alive through me?
And just as importantly:
What am I already growing that I want to nurture?
The answers don't need to be practical, or justified, or make sense to anyone else.
Leo reminds us that desire itself is enough.

A Place To Dive Deeper
An eclipse is a powerful time to pause rather than push. Instead of trying to make something happen, let yourself become a witness to what is being revealed.
Take a piece of paper and turn your attention inward.
On the first side, write: What am I ready to release?
Old patterns.
Past decisions.
Beliefs about yourself that no longer feel true.
Stories you keep replaying.
Fears that have been taking up too much space.
Anything you are ready to stop carrying into the next chapter.
Then physically turn the paper over.
On this fresh side, write: What is calling me forward?
What do you want to call in?
How do you want to feel?
What do you want to experience?
What wants to be created through you?
What would your life feel like if you allowed yourself to want what you really want?
What am I already growing that I want to nurture?
There is no need to have all the answers. There is nothing you need to force into being.
Simply witness.
When you feel complete, place the paper somewhere safe and allow the eclipse to do its work.
In the days following the eclipse, return to what you wrote. Take a photograph of the side with your desires to keep an return to whenever you wish. Then read the release side again and ask:
What am I genuinely ready to let go of?
When you feel ready, safely burn the paper as an offering to fire and Spirit. Let the old stories, patterns, and beliefs transform.
The eclipse is the pause. The days that follow are where you choose what you will carry forward.
Witness.
Release.
Reclaim.
Turn toward what lights you up.
A Blessing for the Leo New Moon
May you turn toward what is calling you.
May you trust what wants to come alive.
May you have the courage to desire again.
May you honor what you have already grown.
And may you remember:
You do not have to carry the past into the future to honor where you have been.
P.S. If you are standing at a personal threshold right now and feeling the pull between an old way of being and the life you know is calling you forward, I created the Threshold Activation Session for exactly this kind of moment.
In this session, we’ll look at the house in your birth chart being activated by this Leo eclipse, helping you understand where this invitation to release, reclaim, and create may be showing up in your life.
We’ll explore what is shifting, what is ready to be released, and what wants to emerge next, bringing together astrology and intuitive guidance so you can move through your threshold with greater clarity and trust.
In honor of this eclipse, I’m offering special Eclipse Threshold Sessions for a limited time.
Use code ECLIPSE when you book to receive the special eclipse rate with $77 savings.
Sometimes the next chapter begins with a single courageous act: turning the page.
And sometimes, when you turn it, you realize you've been carrying more wisdom, growth, and possibility with you than you knew.

I've also created this month's Wayfinder Clarity Compass to help you carry the energy of this Leo eclipse into your own reflection.
Inside you'll find guided journaling prompts, lunar insights, and a fun tarot-oracle practice.
Take a moment to look at the photo above and choose the card you're most drawn to. Then open your Clarity Compass to discover your message and explore what it may be inviting you to remember.
