1) Mission driven with a big heart.

dōTERRA’s mission is “a healer in every home.” They see themselves, and behave as, a company providing health and wellness solutions. They invest heavily in science and research. They chose the direct selling model of distribution for very specific reasons, which I’ll share below.

dōTERRA is out to empower people around the world, in over 40 countries, to take care of their health and to grow their wealth. To that end, they put their money where their mouth is – big time.

2) Superior product.

dōTERRA became the largest essential oils distributor in the world in 2015 – just 7 years after its founding – and remain so today. Their revenues surpassed $1 billion that year. Why? Because their product is awesome. It’s just that simple.

(No, revenue of $1B is not what makes the oils amazing, but it is a reflection of the quality, love and care that goes into the products. No direct selling company gets to $1B with a product without an amazing product.)

dōTERRA is the only product I’ve ever come across that literally sells itself. I’ve seen it firsthand, over and over again: people experience the oils, they want the oils, they buy the oils. You can’t fake that. Keep reading for more on what makes the oils amazing.

3) Commitment to quality.

I want to work with people and companies who back up their values with action and cash. dōTERRA does both.

For example, the essential oils industry has no standards, so to demonstrate their commitment to quality, doTERRA created their own: the CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® protocol.

Yes, they get some flak for this. Yes, some quibble that this was just a “marketing ploy.” My answer to that is… are you freakin’ kidding me?

Let me get this straight: there was no standard, so to elevate and normalize this alternative health modality, they created a stringent standard and then hold themselves accountable to it. Do you know of any other companies that have done that? I don’t!

Also, they are fully transparent about their standards. Call them up and they’ll talk to you for as long as it takes to answer your questions. There is no funny business here.

4) Responsible sourcing.

Again this is a place where people get all up in arms. We could quibble ‘til the cows come home but dõTERRA shows through their actions that they are committed to high quality sourcing and empowering people around the globe.

dõTERRA searches high and low to find the best locations for growing the plants for each oil. They intentionally choose harvest times to get the best product, they work with local farmers who have been growing and harvesting the plants, they pay them fairly, they seek to lift communities up and give more life to all. Which is the first Divine law, above all.

There is a ton of information available about how dōTERRA sources their oils. Start with this video, and be sure to check out SourceToYou.com for the full low down on Cō-Impact Sourcing.

5) Third party testing.

Every batch of dōTERRA oil is tested by third parties, to ensure standards are maintained. Testing happens throughout the entire process, every step of the way. 7 tests are performed to make sure they are free of pesticide, herbicide, solvents and are safe for therapeutic use. You can learn more about testing here.

Want more proof? dōTERRA has created a website where you can search the lot number of your bottle of oil and see all kinds of juicy info, including the farmers and growers.

6) Direct selling model that empowers women and families worldwide.

Yes, direct selling is a HUGE plus!

Instead of throwing millions of dollars at big corporations and lowering quality standards to get shelf space in stores, dōTERRA invests that money in the people who use and share the oils. (Note: 75% of dōTERRA members are users only and never build the business. You never have to share the oils – ever.)

Personally, I would much, much rather see my money go directly into the pocket of the woman who took the time and care to share the oils with me than to see it go to a big corporation. dōTERRA is sold by real human beings, who are driven to help others and have a real stake in the company’s success.

Who are those people? Mothers. Husbands. Fathers. Families. People who are just like you, looking to make great money by doing good things and making the planet a better place.

Here are just a few other things that set dōTERRA apart as a direct selling company:

Retention rate. 68% of the 4+ million people who buy the oils… keep buying! This is practically unheard of in the direct selling industry. This means that you can actually make fantastic income without hustling your butt off to cover attrition. And the track record of the top earners plays this out: most top income earners hit the big ranks in 24 months or less.

dōTERRA leaders are kind, loving, and over-the-top generous. A few months after I joined, a friend shared stories of another direct selling company whose name you would probably know. She shared that the culture was positively cutthroat – that 7-figure income earners would horde their secrets, and keep their downline spinning. I was floored. Because dōTERRA leaders give generously and truly support your success.

A crazy-good compensation plan. While other companies cluster earning potential at the top of your organization, dōTERRA rewards leadership. The more you help others, the more you get paid. And you get paid weekly.

Fun Fact: dōTERRA is on the Forbes list of America’s Best Midsize Employers at #10.

7) Family and women focus.

As I mentioned, most of the top income earners are women and families. Mamas and babies are welcomed, encouraged, supported, transformed. There are tons of kids in dōTERRA!

For the past 8 years as a master business coach, I have been a commitment to empowering women financially, showing them how to break free of money stories and price and package their transformational work so that they are making phenomenal money. As I move forward teaching magic and manifestation, the work continues.

A big part of building real financial freedom means breaking free from the myopia of the coaching industry and opening other wealth channels, particularly those that are leveraged and residual. dōTERRA’s opportunity fits that bill.

dōTERRA has demonstrated that they are a stand for women and children’s financial empowerment. It’s a natural match for my business and mission.

8) Oils and business education galore – all free.

On dōTERRA’s website, you’ll find hundreds and hundreds of hours of oils education and business support. dōTERRA goes to great lengths to educate their users on how to use the oils properly, and the quality of the business education is top notch.

As a master business coach for service-based solopreneurs, I can confidently say that there IS a formula to building a solo business, and dōTERRA has it. Anyone can build a dōTERRA business – they just have to put in the time and passion.

Meanwhile, product support is within reach of a phone, email or click. Even more is available through the websites of dōTERRA’s army of Wellness Advocates.

9) Best pricing and tons of opportunity to earn free product.

dōTERRA offers wholesale prices to all its members, and has built-in opportunities to earn free product every month if you so choose (none are required).

In the realm of business, my specialty is offers – ways to price and package to create incredible value for clients and customers, while making said offers impossible to resist. dōTERRA is GENIUS at offers (pricing, packaging, promotions) and guess who wins? Its customers.

Over the past 2 years I’ve earned at least $1500 in free product – and that’s just from my regular purchases of $100-$200 per month, plus a few bigger orders from time to time for client gifts and the like.

10) Giving back

dōTERRA has a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, The Healing Hands Foundation, dedicated to lifting up impoverished communities around the world. Healing Hands is funded entirely by members, employees and executives – you can donate every time you order! Millions of dollars have been raised for communities around the globe.

Read more about Healing Hands here, including the story of the new oil Hope, with its peel-back label designed to be distributed to children at risk of trafficking and slavery, so they can call for help.

These are just a few reasons why I’m proud to be a part of the dōTERRA family…
and proud to share the oils with you!
